The Institute for Ecology and Action Anthropology
Ecology ultimately the science of nature’s economics takes a problem-oriented approach to the cycles and impact connections of the natural and cultural world which are endangered by civilisation. Infoe investigates environmental problems caused by exploitation of resources, such as wood, uranium and oil, in areas inhabited by indigenous peoples. Action anthropology indicates that infoe actively works together with indigenous groups defending their territories, and their criteria serves as a standard. This collaboration includes the development of aims and strategies which are based on equality. Anthropologists and other scientists often work in domains that exclude indigenous peoples. This is of importance because decisions affecting environment and territories of indigenous peoples are often made in international institutions. |
